Major decline in Egypt QIZ exports of knitted T-shirt to the US market

Egypt’s exports of knitted T-shirts to the US have sharply declined, hitting just $21.6M in late 2017. Despite a major price advantage through duty-free QIZ access, Egypt is losing market share to near-shore rivals. This historic low stems from rising input costs and a limited local supply chain.
