Research Publishing Agreement

Governing the submission, listing, sale, and delivery of research papers on the Egytex Researches platform.

§Parties

This Research Publishing Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between:

Egytex.com ("Egytex", "the Platform")
Egypt's official textile and apparel industry portal, operating the Researches module at egytex.com/researches.

and

("Contributor", "you")

1.Grant of Rights

1.1The Contributor grants Egytex a non-exclusive, royalty-free (subject to Section 3) license to:

• Host and publicly display the paper's title, abstract, methodology overview, keywords, author names, and institutional affiliation on the Researches platform and in related marketing or search-indexing contexts;
• Store the full paper file on Egytex's private infrastructure;
• Deliver a copy of the full paper file by email to any buyer who completes payment for it through the Platform;
• Generate and display citation formats (APA, MLA, Chicago, BibTeX) derived from the paper's title, authors, and publication metadata.

1.2This license remains in effect for as long as the paper's listing is active on the Platform, and survives with respect to any copies already delivered to buyers prior to removal or termination (see Section 9).

1.3This is a non-exclusive license. The Contributor retains full ownership of the work and may publish, license, or sell it elsewhere through any other channel, concurrently or otherwise.

1.4Egytex will not alter, abridge, or create derivative works from the full paper, beyond technical processing reasonably necessary for storage, format validation, and delivery (e.g. file format checks).

2.Submission and Publication

2.1Submissions are published immediately upon completion of the Submit Research form and acceptance of this Agreement. There is no editorial pre-review queue.

2.2The Contributor is solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all submitted content, including the formatting requirements set out in Section 4.

2.3Egytex reserves the right to:

• Correct minor formatting issues (e.g. spacing, category tagging) without contacting the Contributor;
• Request revision of, or temporarily unpublish, a listing that does not meet the requirements in Section 4, with notice to the Contributor;
• Remove any listing that violates Section 6 (Representations and Warranties) at any time, with or without prior notice, depending on severity.

3.Pricing and Revenue Share

3.1The Contributor sets the listed price for the full paper at the time of submission, and may revise it at any time. Price changes apply only to future sales and do not affect requests already paid for at the prior price.

3.2For each completed sale, Egytex retains a commission calculated as follows:

3.3The commission rate above may be revised by Egytex with at least 30 days' written notice to the Contributor. Revised rates apply only to sales made after the new rate takes effect.

3.4All prices are listed and collected in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.Payment and Payout

4.1Egytex collects payment from buyers directly through the Platform's payment processor (Paymob) at the time of request.

4.2Confirmed payouts (gross sales less commission) are paid to the Contributor on a monthly basis, by the 10th calendar day of the month following the month in which the sale occurred, via bank transfer to the account designated by the Contributor.

4.3Egytex will provide the Contributor a monthly statement showing each sale, the gross amount, the commission deducted, and the net payout, no later than the payout date in 4.2.

4.4No payout is due for any sale that is refunded, charged back, or fails payment verification prior to the payout date.

4.5The Contributor is solely responsible for any taxes owed on payouts received under this Agreement.

5.Content Formatting Requirements

5.1  Abstract (public)

• 150–300 words
• Plain text or basic paragraphs only — no tables, charts, images, or footnotes
• Summarizes the research question, method, and key finding in accessible language

5.2  Methodology Overview (public)

• 1–3 short paragraphs — a summary, not the full methods section
• No data tables or citations — these belong in the full paper only

5.3  Full Paper File

• PDF format only, text-based (not a scanned image of pages)
• Maximum file size: 25MB
• Must include a cover page stating the title, all authors, institutional affiliation, and publication date
• Must include a complete references/bibliography section within the document
• Must not be password-protected and must not contain embedded macros or executable content

5.4  Language

• Submissions may be in English or Arabic. Abstracts in Arabic must still populate the Latin-script keyword field used for English-language search.

5.5Egytex may decline to publish, or may unpublish pending correction, any submission that does not meet the above requirements, per Section 2.3.

6.Representations and Warranties

The Contributor represents and warrants that:

• They are the rightful owner of the submitted work, or have obtained all necessary rights and permissions from co-authors and any third-party rights holders to grant the license in Section 1;
• The submitted work does not infringe any copyright, trademark, confidentiality obligation, or other intellectual property or contractual right of any third party;
• The submitted work does not contain defamatory, unlawful, or knowingly false content;
• All authorship, institutional affiliation, and publication details provided are accurate and complete;
• They have the authority to enter into this Agreement on behalf of the named Institution, where applicable.

7.Confidentiality of Buyer Information

7.1Egytex will not share a buyer's name, email, company, or stated use-case with the Contributor, except in aggregate, anonymized form (e.g. total sales count, total revenue) as part of standard reporting.

7.2This protects buyer privacy and is consistent with Egytex's broader policy of never exposing contact information collected through the Platform to third parties, including Contributors.

8.Term and Termination

8.1This Agreement remains in effect for as long as the Contributor maintains at least one active listing on the Platform.

8.2The Contributor may unpublish any individual paper, or terminate this Agreement entirely, at any time via written request to Egytex. Unpublishing stops new sales but does not recall copies already delivered to prior buyers.

8.3Egytex may suspend or terminate this Agreement, or remove any listing, immediately upon a breach of Section 6 (Representations and Warranties), or upon receipt of a credible third-party rights claim, pending resolution.

8.4Outstanding payouts owed for completed sales prior to termination remain payable per the schedule in Section 4, regardless of the reason for termination.

9.Removal and Takedown Requests

9.1Any third party asserting a rights claim against a published paper may submit a takedown request to Egytex, which will be forwarded to the Contributor for response within 5 business days.

9.2Egytex may temporarily unpublish a paper subject to an unresolved takedown request while the claim is reviewed, without that action constituting a breach of Section 1.

10.Limitation of Liability

10.1Egytex's role is limited to hosting, listing, processing payment for, and delivering the Contributor's paper. Egytex makes no representation as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of the Contributor's research content.

10.2To the maximum extent permitted by law, Egytex's total liability to the Contributor under this Agreement is limited to the total commissions retained from the Contributor's sales in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10.3Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from this Agreement.

11.Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

11.1This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

11.2The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute arising under this Agreement through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may pursue the matter before the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt.

12.General Provisions

12.1Notices under this Agreement are valid if sent to the contact email provided at the head of this Agreement, or its registered update.

12.2This Agreement, together with the Submit Research form data submitted by the Contributor, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the publication of the Contributor's research on the Platform, superseding any prior discussions.

12.3If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

12.4Egytex may update this Agreement's general terms (Sections 1, 2, and 5–12) with 30 days' notice to all active Contributors; pricing/commission changes follow the specific notice period in Section 3.3.

§Acceptance

For institutions and researchers submitting through the online form, acceptance occurs by checking the agreement box at submission, which is logged with a timestamp and IP address as the Contributor's electronic signature.
