Bolivia - Fire Destroys Cotton-Recycling Plant in El Alto

This afternoon, a huge fire destroyed completely a cotton recycling plant on San Sebastian neighborhood, district 8, from El Alto city.

According to preliminary report given by the chief of Firefighters from El Alto city, COL. Freddy Torres, the fire could have started at 15:00 P.M. started by an electric short circuit. Many workers suffered small burns trying to put the fire out.

Some of the workers stated that the flames not only destroyed the plant, it burned the machinery worth $ 130 thousand. They said the fire was started by a spark of one machine and not by an electrical short circuit.

Despite the effort carried out by firefighters, the flames destroyed the precarious factory, ending with machinery and raw material.
