Clothing Sales Climb In 2002

Finnish apparel sales rose 3.3 per cent in September from the year-ago period, industry figures revealed on Wednesday.

The Finnish Association of Textile and Footwear Importers and Wholesalers said for the first nine months of 2002 clothing sales grew one per cent with a fall in men's apparel sales offset by increased sales of women's and children's wear.

The group added footwear sales rose 1.1 per cent in the nine month period and it expects full-year fashion sales to climb three per cent.
