EGYPT:167 Million Dollars worth of the Egyptian Cotton Exports
The total contracts for the Egyptian Cotton exports to Global Markets since the beginning of the season until the end of the thirty nine week and has reached 1 million, 438 and 340 thousand kantars to meet the needs of 24 countries from around the world and the expected value of these contracts is 167 million USD.

Eng. Tharwat EL Meniawy (chairman of the Cotton Arbitration and Testing General Organization, CATGO) said that India still on the top of the list of Contracting countries to import the Egyptian Cotton by a percentage 37.92% of the total contracts, followed by China with a percentage 20.41% and then Pakistan by 13.55%.
Eng. Meniawy clarified that the total distribution of the Egyptian Cotton between export contracts and the total amount received by the mills during this season, reached 2 million, 832 thousands pounds and 217 kantars to reach the expected total that is estimated by CATGO about 429 thousand and 599 kantars .
