Establishing a National Authority for Yarn, Textile, and Clothes (EGYPT)
Chamber of Textile Industries presented a comprehensive study on the establishment of a national authority for textile in order to increase the export size of clothing and textile sector to USD 10 billion annually from 2020.

The chamber submitted this study to Eng. Rashid Muhammad Rashid, minister of industry and commerce. Producers of textile expressed their desire for the final approval of this study as soon as possible. Notably, it lays down a strategic vision for updating textile industries until 2020, covering all aspects of modernization and addressing all problems encountered in the sector of these local industries nowadays. They confirmed that a specialized Swiss company conducted an adequate study on the establishment of such authority for achieving the required goals for modernizing the textile industry, especially after studying the Indian experience, in all its aspects including marketing, exporting, manufacturing, and supplying raw materials.
