On export of waste cotton, Mr. Mathivanan said spinning mills sent out 27 lakh bales of waste cotton a day, of which 7.5 lakh bales were exported. This affected the open-end spinning mills, which required about 23.2 lakh bales a day. Representatives from Palladam, Rasipuram, Salem and Tirupur participated.
