JAPAN: Japan`s Nonwovens production decreases 3.2% in October.
METI reported that Japanese nonwoven fabric production decreased by 3.2% in October from the same month of last year to 26,569 tons, which is the first decrease in eleven months. The January-October total increased by 25.2% year-on-year to 261,486 tons.

October production of thermal-bonded and needle-punched nonwovens increased for the tenth consecutive month, whereas that of wet-laid nonwovens decreased for the first time in 12 months. The production of spunbonded and meltblown also declined for the first time in ten months.
October production is as follows: chemical bonded, 1,597 tons (down 15%); thermal bonded, 3,210 tons (up 4.7%); needle punched, 6,534 tons (up 0.2%); spunlaced, 2,827 tons (down 10.8%); spunbonded and meltblown, 7,458 tons (down 1%); others, 2,124 tons (down 2.6%); wet-laid nonwovens, 2,819 tons (down 9.3%).
