U.S. textile quotas on imports from China will be of absolutely no use in their last year, as imports of Chinese products are dramatically falling in most important categories. Shipments of Chinese cotton trousers were more than halved by mid-March from the same period in 2007. Quota fill rates are much lower than a year earlier, as a consequence, while quota prices are decreasing in China.
