Wool prices further fell this week in Australia, as demand was depressed by a new rise in the Australian dollar. The global economic slowdown is negatively affecting the wool pipeline with a reduction in yarn prices, as a result. Market prices also decreased in South Africa while slightly rising in New Zealand. Long-term data are indicating that wool prices are at a very high level in US$ terms, our graphs indicate.
