One of the main impediments facing the promotion of Egyptian textile exports relates to the problems associated with the use of artificial dyes in the manufacturing process.

With the growing awareness of the environmental conditions of industrial development, the issue is becoming of paramount importance as far as the Egypt textile exports are concerned.

The presented study attempts to highlight the following issues:

1) What are the prospects of using natural dyes in Egyptian textiles based upon agricultural production potentials?

2) To what extent are the producers of textiles willing to use natural dyes as a substitute for artificial dyes ?

3) How far the use of natural dyes could stimulate Egyptian exports of textiles in the future ?
