Clothing Exports Fall Except In Asean

Thai clothing exports to all major markets except Asean fell in the first half of the year. Worldwide exports of Thai garments totalled US$1.53 billion in the first six months, down 5.3 per cent compared with last year. Exports to the US were $802.40 million, down by 4.03 per cent and shipments to the European Union were $333.41, down 10.29 per cent. By contrast, shipments to other Asean members totalled $29.81 million, up by 14.43 per cent. The Thai Garment Manufacturers' Association has blamed the global economic slowdown
