Egypt Initiates Implementation Strategy for the Textile Sector

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the holding company reviewed a detailed report on all the works that necessary for the development of the factories of the holding company in Mahalla, Halwan, Kafr El Dawar, Damietta, Tanta, Shabin El Koum, Kom Hamada, Zagazig, Mansoura, Asiout, Qena, Sohag and Menia.

The Chairman pointed out that 15 of the factories were inspected from 15 November 2018 until 16 January 2019. The structural, architectural and electromechanical works works were inspected on the ground to assess their initial condition and to indicate their suitability to the current Egyptian code and the international code, Technological development in the specialized industry, and to meet the requirements of good manufacturing of this type of industry.

He pointed out that the strategy includes the development of 21 buildings, all textile companies in the governorates, through the allocation of investments to develop the machines used to keep up with the technological development in the spinning industry at the global level, and other investments for construction to replace some existing facilities and renew them in line with development plans and needs.

During the meeting, the time program for the restructuring of cotton and textile industries holding companies was reviewed during the period from 2019 to 2021.

The Prime Minister praised the plan for the development of ginning, spinning and weaving, stressing the need to provide the necessary funding for the implementation of this plan, through the exploitation of assets owned by the Ministry in distinct areas, which contribute to the implementation of the development plan successfully.
