Egyptian cotton exports to Switzerland surged by 180 %
The Egyptian cotton exports commitments reaches 57 K Tons in the 3rd week from 20/10/2003 to 13/11/2003. The commitment percentage for G70 and G88 (Extra long Staple) reached 39.28% of the total commitments. While G86 (Long Staple) reached 60.72% which the highest percentage of total commitments

In the first 3 weeks of the new season, Switzerland surged 180% of the entire last year, Switzerland imported 8470.50 Tons of Egyptian Cotton. This Year Switzerland increased imports of cotton to 15820 Tons. The imports of India and Pakistan of Egyptian cotton reached 20 % of last year. Meanwhile, Italy imports of Egyptian cotton is 30% of last year imports (31182.83 Tons). USA imports of Egyptian cotton reached 650 Tons only, while last year, USA imported 17787.34 Tons mainly of Giza 80 & 83. Egypt does not have any quantities of Giza 80 & 83 for exports this year to cover the local consumption of Egyptian yarn manufacturers.
