Egyptian Cotton reach highest exports in 6-years
The Egyptian Cotton fiber exports has reached its highest export record in 6 years during 2018/2019 season with more than 74K Tons recorded export commitments, after a major surge in Egyptian Cotton production, that enabled Egypt to become the 2nd largest producer of ELS Cotton worldwide with more than 100K Tons.

India has dominated more than 51% of Egyptian Cotton export commitments to the world markets, as it reached more than 38K Tons, which is the highest in more than 10-years, followed by Pakistan 15K Tons, and Bangladesh 4K Tons.
The Egyptian Cotton domestic consumption in Egypt has remained in its lowest in 60 years with less than 10K Tons, which is due to dependence on imported short-staple cotton.
