TUNISIA:Textile & Clothing Exports raised by 5% in Q1 of 2011.
Exports of the textile-clothing sector reached 1.313 million dinars (MTD) in the first three months of the current year, i.e. a rise of 5.09% compared with the same period last year, according to statistics published by the Technical Textile Centre (CETTEX).

The import-export coverage rate stood at 158.4% from last January up to last March, compared with 155.2% in 2010.
Imports, which amounted to 829 MTD ( 2.96%), recorded last March a large decline in matters of quantity (-14.85%) due to a strong fall in material imports from China as well as secondhand clothes from Italy and Belgium. Tunisia's main customers in the textile-clothing sector are France, Italy, Germany and Belgium.
