Brazil Cotton Exports Drop to Only 12,797 Bales in April 2004
Brazil’s cotton export shipments declined in April 2004 to only 12,797 bales, marking the lowest level of the 2003/04-season.

The main export destinations in April were Argentina (4,582 bales), Japan (2,015 bales), South Korea (2,546 bales) and Peru (2,239 bales). Cumulative August 2003 through April 2004 cotton exports total 793,304 480-pound bales, representing an 83.4 percent increase over year ago export levels.
The top season-to-date export destinations are Argentina, Japan, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Thailand and even Italy. Brazilian styles are gaining acceptance across a wide range of markets, including Europe. Over ten percent of all exports in 2003/04 moved to European destinations.
