The total investment reached 7.6 Billion EGP ( $1.38 Billion USD) and will provide 80,000 job opportunities.
Geographically, the Governorate of Al Sharkia had the most in large factories which added up to 36 while the Governorate of Al Gharbia had the most in medium sized and small sized factories which added up to 35 and 50 respectively.
Minister Rachid added that the number of large factories that were established reached 171 divided into 73 that were expansions to existing entities and 98 new facilities. These represent investments worth 6.6 Billion EGP ($1.2 Billion USD) and should provide 57,000 job opportunities. He also said that the number of medium factories reached 95 divided into 54 that were expansions to existing entities and 41 new facilities. The investment in each ranged from 5 Million EGP to 15 Million EGP and reaching in total 664.5 Million EGP ($120.8 Million USD) and should provide 13,000 job opportunities.
As to small sized factories where investments range from 0.5 Million to 5 Million EGP, these added up to 186 divided into 122 that were expansions to existing entities and 64 new facilities. Total investments reached 284 Million EGP ( $51.64 Million USD ) and should provide 8,837 job opportunities.
