Eng. Tharwat Menyawy, the Chairman of The COTTON ARBITRATION AND TESTING GENERAL ORGANIZATION in Alexandria said that they signed a contract to export about 64 thousands and 600 kantars of Egyptian cotton to the world markets, including 1000 kantars of (Giza 87) with average price 200 cents/lb, and 20 thousand & 540 kantars of ( Giza 88) with average price 129 cents/lb, and 39 thousands & 960 kantars of the item (Giza 86) with average price 106 cents/lb.
Mr. Menyawy referred that the percentage of the contracts of the public sector companies (6 companies) reached 13, 97 % of the total signed contracts, while the contracts of the private sector companies (23 companies) amounted 86.03%.
The weekly report of The COTTON ARBITRATION AND TESTING GENERAL ORGANIZATION has confirmed that the prices of contracts of the Egyptian cotton to the world markets continued to rise during the second week of March compared to the prices at the beginning of the season and the prices of Pima cotton and "Barkat" Sudan Cotton.
