Decrease in the Egyptian cotton contracts:

The Cotton Exporters Federation Reports of the Egyptian Cotton Contracts of the foreign companies had decreased by the first month of opening the export season. The contracts had been estimated at 17.83 thousands tons by the 4th of November 2001; while in the same period of 2000 (72.31 thousands tons).

An official in the Federation referred this decrease to the international events the world has witnessed since the American explosions on 11 Sept. 2001.
