EGYPT: Egypt's Alcotexa sells 1,445 Tons of Cotton in th past week.
Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 1,445 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on December 11, an Alcotexa official told Reuters on Sunday.

The sales comprised 995 tonnes of the Giza 88 variety, 437.5 tonnes of Giza 86 and 12.5 tonnes of Giza 80, the official said.
Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2010/11 season, which began in September are now 85,644 tonnes of cotton worth $312.76 million, the official added.
By this time last year, Alcotexa had sold 44,894 tonnes of cotton worth $98.9 million.
