Egyptian cotton exports commitments reached a record of 50 K Tons few days after the opening of the Egyptian cotton fiber export season
The Egyptian cotton exports commitments reaches 50 K Tons only in the 1st week from 20/10/2003 to 1/11/2003. The commitment percentage for G70 and G88 (Extra long Staple) reached 36.5% of the total commitments. While G86 (Long Staple) reached 63.5% which the highest percentage of total commitments.

The new prices of the Egyptian cotton are:
-G70 : 141.50 cent/lb
-G88 : 137.50 cent/lb
-G86 : 128.25 cent/lb
The American Cotton (PIMA) price reached 134 cent/lb.
It is noticable that G86 which is equivalent to Pima cotton is priced below the Pima cotton price which is 128 cent/lb on the 23rd of October.
Taking into consideration that the total exports of the Egyptian cotton this season 2003/2004 will not exceed 120 K Tons.
