In Egypt, cotton prices were unchanged till May 22nd with Extra long staple Giza 70 at 135.25 cents/lb and Giza 88 128 cents/lb. Meanwhile, the long staple Giza 86 is 118 cents/lb. The commitment percentage for G70 (Extra long Staple) reached 16,532.80 Tons with percentage of 23.76% of the total commitments.
The commitment percentage for G88 (Extra long Staple) reached 12,209.20 Tons with percentage of 17.54% of the total commitments.
While G86 (Long Staple) reached 39,969.50 Tons with percentage of 57.44% which the highest percentage of total commitments.
The number of countries importing Egyptian cotton reached 24 countries till 7/2/2004.
The main three countries are :
1 – Switzerland: 7,933 Tons with percentage of 11.40% of total commitments.
2 – Italy: 9,408 Tons with percentage of 13.52% of total commitments.
3 - India: 9,418 Tons with percentage of 13.53% of total commitments.
