JAPAN: Japan`s Nonwovens production dropped down by 1.1% in January.
The Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) reported that the nation’s production of nonwoven fabrics in January 2011 decreased by 1.1% from the same month of last year to 25,524 tons.

While production increased for the thirteenth consecutive month for spunbond/meltblown (up 6.9% to 7,721 tons) and thermal bond (up 1.0% to 2,929 tons), spunlace decreased for the first time in three months (down 12.8% to 2,535 tons). Chemical-bond decreased for the ninth straight month (down 13.6%) to 1,567 tons, and wet-laid nonwovens were down 2.6% to 2,730 tons.
