PAKISTAN: Inactivity Continues in Cotton Market
Inactivity continued to prevail at the Cotton Market as only 400 Lint bales could be traded here Thursday. The market had been fluctuating while mostly inactivity prevailed. However, there had been no deals in the Punjab cotton. The sources said the Price Committee decided to maintain the existing prices. The prices continued at Rs 4,072 per maund, while the official spot rates remained at Rs 3,800 per 40/kg.
The sources conceded that the prevailing political conditions have adversely affected the cotton market and added "We are experiencing the same thing, as others are experiencing". They hoped that with the easiness in political situation, the trading would hopefully be multiplied.
