PTA prices started slightly rising in the last days, after Asian producers were confronted with higher raw material costs in the past weeks, therefore reducing their operating rates. Polyester prices are further falling, putting more pressure on MEG prices. Settlement of Asian contracts could be much lower than nominations in the polyester chain, as Monday seen with May paraxylene contract.
