Turkey ranked the second among countries which supply textiles and clothing to EU countries, according to EU`s official statistics institution Eurostat.
The import of EU countries in textile and clothing from third countries increased 4.3 percent to 78.6 billion Euro in 2007 when compared with 2006.
EU countries` import from Turkey in textile and clothing increased 6.5 percent to 12.6 billion Euro in 2007 compared to 2006.
Turkey increased its market share in EU to 16.1 percent in 2007 from 15.8 percent in 2006, and ranked the second in suppliers list after China which has a market share of 34.6 percent.
