UAE: Rapid Progress Expected for Textile Industry in the Middle East
According to recent reports, the textile industry in the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region is expected to grow by 8% annually and reach US$ 65 billion by 2010.

Textile manufacturers and traders have expressed strong optimism towards continued growth of the regional textile industry and the exceptional opportunities it offers.
In recent years, Dubai has enjoyed steady growth in textile imports and re-exports. Dubai's textile imports from industry giants from all over the world whereas its re-export destinations include more than 50 countries in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and Europe. Dubai Textile City, which is expected to start its operations this year is a US$ 82 million set up and aims to further revolutionize the textile trade in the UAE and make Dubai a textile hub of the region.
