Pakistan Cotton Fashion Apparel Manufactures and Exporters Association (PCFAMEA) has appealed to the government to look into the most serious issue of R and D and its continuation for the coming few years. PCFAMEA Chairman Dr Shahzad Arshad here warned that apparel exporter based industry might collapse if the R and D facility being given to apparel exporters was withdrawn.
He pointed out that apparel export based industry of Pakistan earned more than 3.5 billion dollars, for the country, and contributed to approximately 25 percent of the total country's export. At the same time, the industry gave employment to approx 40 percent of the industrial labor of the country, he added.
